Mastering time management can be a real challenge, especially when you have so many things on the go and everyone needs your attention.
Its frustrating when you feel like you’re working your heart out but you’re not getting ahead. The important tasks seems to take forever and the ones you dislike never get done, even if they’re essential to the success of your business.
You need to focus and work on the things that lead you to growth and success!
You need to ignore the negativity and the time drains that waste your day!
Look forward to the end results, start at the beginning and fill in the middle!
Its not always easy to focus, and stick to a plan but it sure can pay off with great results. You might really have to work at it or keep reminders close at hand to keep you on track. Do whatever it takes so that you can build your business and live your dreams!
I’ve compiled a simple but effective list to help you master time management quickly!
- Create a daily routine
- Prioritize your tasks
- Give yourself deadlines or time limits
- Keep yourself organized
- Set reminders for things you tend to forget or put aside
- Remember, progress not perfection
- Do the jobs you like least, first
- Don’t take on too many other obligations
- Focus on what you’re doing and ignore distractions
- Try time blocking and see if it works for you
I’ve expanded a few of the tips above to help you get there a little easier….
Create a daily routine –
This is important so that you prioritize and analyze what you’re actually doing, and what you need to be doing, to achieve the goals you’ve set out for yourself. Its makes it easier to make time for things like eating a healthy meal and getting exercise as well. If we don’t have it planned out sometimes you can get carried away with work and ignore what your body needs.
Creating a daily routine is a great way to make sure you hit certain tasks at the right time that are time sensitive. For example if you post on Facebook at the wrong time, then you’re not making the most of the time you’re spending on Facebook. If you have it scheduled, and you post when you’ll get more interaction, then you’re gonna rock it and make the best use of your time!
Progress not perfection –
This one is so important for me! Simply put, make sure you’re not stalling on the details. Just get the main part done and worry about changing or fixing the details later.
This is a key to time management!
Keep yourself organized –
It is so hard to focus on anything and be productive in a messy environment, let alone manage your time well.
You can’t find the things you need, when you need them.
You get distracted easily because there’s too much stimulation or distraction for your mind to focus.
You don’t want to be in an environment that’s messy and doesn’t feel relaxing.
Try re-decorating and organizing your work area. Just start small and work your way up. I recently re-did my desk, I painted and decorated which made it feel so pretty and pleasing. I made a new pin board and some decorative quotes that I have sitting on my desk. They add a pretty aesthetic but provide reminders and motivation too! I added new folders and boxes with clear labels to keep everything close at hand. I actually love sitting at my desk now!

Focus on what you’re doing and ignore distractions –
I know, this one’s harder done than said! Focus is one of the biggest attributes that many successful entrepreneurs claim to be the key to their success. Its something that researchers have found to be more innate in some people than others. The good news is that you can learn to laser focus!
